This was recently finished for my sculpture class. She's life sized, carved from polystyrene with glass eyes and epoxy details (I haven't added nipples yet). The chair isn't part of the piece, all they had were wooden chairs in the photography studio. I would have preferred to have her on some sort of grey pedestal that faded in with the background.
This was intended to be a weird fantasy piece as well as hinting at animal rights issues. Note that she has albino rabbit eyes. This is also uncovered foam to reveal the materials and construction of the piece. I don't necessarily expect people on DA to understand or like this piece because it's not "pretty" in the same way my other animals are and not something that appeals to a wide audience, but that's ok. If you guys do happen to like it, I'll just be pleasantly surprised. I think it's kinda cool anyway and like it just as much if not more than my fur covered pieces.
Since there are no nipples showing and it's just the basic female form, I'm not going to put a mature warning on this. It should be ok, but if not I'll put it back up with the warning.
Very well done! I couldnt imagine making a sculpture like that out of foam. You certainly have skills "as we allready know " where do you get your foam?

this is wonderful....i love the creativity in this piece .... i also love the way its fantasty but, with a modern-ish feel to it. this is truely wonderful artwork ^ ^
I used a bunch of extra foam at school for this one. Otherwise I buy it at a home improvement store, usually Menards. I'm not sure if they have those where you are.
Hmm... if you don't mind a slight critique... it looks like her head might be a bit too small... other than that it looks fantastic and I know I would have trouble trying to do a life size piece.
*nods* I think it maybe is a little small. That problem came from the initial drawing that I used for my pattern (it's so important to get those right!). She looks a little better when viewed directly from the front. It was also tough to get the proportions right when combining species like that. >_<
Yeah, I know, I draw a lot of anthro work and it is really tough to gauge sometimes, one time I actually traced my own head and then a hyena skull over it to figure out proportions for my furrsona, though I ended up tossing that concept..
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
